GeoMedic™
A GeoMedic™ is a trained individual with skill in providing remote medical care where access to medical equipment, healthcare providers, and definitive care is minimal or unavailable. This specialized role is critical in environments with prolonged delays in care—exceeding 24 hours—or in extreme cases, where no advanced medical support can be reached at all.
WHO IS THE GeoMedic™ FOR?
The GeoMedic™ program is for individuals who have passion and interests in Disaster Response and Humanitarian Crises. Focus on Medical Care delivery in developing Nations, including establishing and operating clinics in remote locations around the globe.
When definitive care is delayed or unavailable, the GeoMedic™ becomes solely responsible for patient management, from the initial event to recovery. Providing care in these situations requires resourcefulness, adaptability, and an in-depth understanding of medical principles to address challenges like limited supplies, delayed patient stabilization, and changing needs.
TIMELINE FOR EMERGENCY AND REMOTE CARE
The First Five Minutes: After a person gets sick or injured.
The Golden Hour: The ensuing hour after a person gets sick or injured.
Extended Care: Care provided within the first 24 hours after sickness or injury.
Remote Care: Beyond the first 24 hours.
WHAT IS TAUGHT?
The GeoMedic™ Course includes 50 hours of didactic presentations, discussion, and hands-on practice labs. The emphasis of the program is hands-on skills based experiential education. This course provides comprehensive education, training, and preparation to equip participants for real-world emergency response.
COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE
Long-term trauma patient care.
Advanced wound care and closure techniques.
Long-term fracture care and casting.
Management of six (6) key orthopedic emergencies.
Managing Environmental emergencies.
How to create and manage an operational clinic.
How to create and manage an operational pharmacy.
Disaster triage and management.
How to create and manage an operational clinic and pharmacy.
Disaster triage and management.
Infectious diseases and tropical medicine.
Work as a key member of the medical response team.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The GeoMedic™ courses fee at the SOLO HQ New Hampshire campus is $895 .
The Course fee of $895 include meals, dorm lodging, and all course materials.
WHAT ABOUT ROOM AND BOARD?
This is also up to the sponsoring organization.
IS THERE AN EXAM?
Yes, there is ongoing evaluation of practical skills, and there are written assessments throughout the course.
DO I GET CERTIFIED?
Yes. You will receive a SOLO GeoMedic™ certification, which is good for two years.
DOES THE GeoMedic™ COUNT AS CONTINUING EDUCATION?
The GeoMedic™ may be eligible for continuing education credits which is dependant on the specific requirements for your certification or college degree. This course may also be eligible for VA education benefits.
PREREQUISITE (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS
Students must meet one of the following qualifications:
Be certified as a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT) or equivalent.
Hold a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification and a professional medical license/certification.
