Wilderness Medicine refers to providing medical care when access to definitive care, like an ambulance or hospital, is delayed by over an hour or more than a mile from a road. Wilderness Medicine applies to remote or rural settings without adequate rescue services, as well as urban city locations where advanced medical resources are unavailable. Wilderness Medicine emphasizes limited resources and making critical decisions in challenging conditions.

SOLO’s purpose is to empower students with lifesaving knowledge and hands-on skills through innovative, experience-driven education.  Our mission is to prepare first responders to act with confidence in challenging environments.
