Wilderness Trauma Life Support

Designed specifically for physicians and mid-level practitioners, SOLO’s WTLStm is open to all medical professionals with a desire to learn the “how to’s” of medicine beyond “the golden hour,” the term frequently applied to traditional urban, front country medicine. Whether described as “wilderness, backcountry, rural, expedition, or disaster medicine,” this course provides a specialized skill set which addresses a spectrum of techniques that include preparation, prevention, assessment, and treatment of injuries and illnesses in situations where the patient may be unable to reach definitive care in a reasonable amount of time such as on an expedition; when the typical “tools of the trade” are unavailable and will have to be improvised; when the infrastructure has been destroyed as in the case of a natural disaster… you may be on an outing or a rescue mission, and this information, which includes a great deal of hands-on practice and is not commonly taught in medical programs, is invaluable.
